Dallas, TX (AmericanInjuryNews.com)–Forest Collier a former oil refinery worker for Gulf Oil Corporation in Port Arthur now known as Chevron died on June 28, 2008 form an asbestos exposure related illness. The SouthEast Texas Record reported, Collier’s widow and four children filed a lawsuit in Jefferson County District Court. The family claims Collier was exposed to toxic materials including asbestos dust and fibers while working for the big oil company. Court documents allege Collier developed an asbestos related illness from the repeated exposure to the toxic materials while he worked at the oil refinery and died because of these injuries.
The Collier family lawsuit further claims, Chevron knew the products contained asbestos, failed to warn workers of the dangers of asbestos exposure, and did not take precautions to keep oil refinery workers safe from continued asbestos-containing product exposure. Judge Bob Wortham of the 58th District Court has been assigned to hear the Collier’s wrongful death and negligence claims.
