Tyler was pledging the fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, when he fell from his fifth-floor balcony in November 2006. According to investigation by police authorities, Tyler had participated in a night of pledging activities requiring each pledge to consume a half-gallon bottle of alcohol.
