Jose Rivas, Jr. was killed in an accident early Sunday morning leaving five passengers and drivers with minor injuries. Rivas, 21, of Bardwell , TX was traveling eastbound on Lake Bardwell Drive when his black GMC truck rear-ended a Ford F150 pick-up truck from behind and lost control. Rivas’ truck crossed the westbound traffic lane, entered the ditch on the north side of the roadway and to rolled multiple times ejecting Rivas from the truck. Rivas was thrown 214 feet while the unoccupied truck rolled to a stop landing upside down.
